Why make a fuss of fascia?

ree

Hydrated fascia means strong supported skin. Fascia is made of a solid part and a liquid part. The later is thought of like a gel made of water binding molecules including hyaluronan, also known as hyaluronic acid.

Proper hydration is vital for maintaining the optimal concentration of hyaluronic acid within fascia

Hyaluronic acid within fascia helps maintain its fluidity, allowing muscles and tissues to glide smoothly over each other.  We want this as less adhesion's means more circulation, more flow, more glow and more strength in your tissues and muscles leading to skin that radiates from within.

Five Ways to Hydrate Your Fascia

  1. Drink More Water

Staying hydrated is essential in the maintenance of all tissues that make up your body, including fascia. If you keep running to the loo, adding in electrolytes and minerals. This promotes better intracellular hydration.

  1. Stretch It Out

You may already do some body stretching, that is great. When considering the face, take time to also stretch the neck. But how to we stretch the face comfortably?

Gentle facial exercises move tissues and Gua Sha is believed to directly affect the fascia, breaking adhesion's and encouraging flexibility.

  2. Frequent Facial Massage

Massage, myofascial release, and other forms of facial and bodywork all aid the hydration of your fascia by releasing tension and improving circulation.

Consider incorporating regular facial massage into your skincare routine to support your fascia and strengthen your skin.

  1. Keep a Varied Diet

I am not telling you what to eat, but suggest adding in more fruits and vegetables, fresh meat and fish and unsaturated fats. As a coffee and tea lover, I hate to admit it but drinking less caffeine and alcohol will also help, especially if you also suspect that you are experiencing dehydration.

  1. Get Energetic

Get to love adenosinetriphosphate(ATP), exercising and moving your muscles will significantly increase ATP in the muscles being used.  This is important because increased water within the muscle is a byproduct of ATP production. Do you see where I am going here? Massage, Microcurrent, adequate sleep and any regular exercise of any kind brings in more ATP, and we love that here.

That is its, five easy tips to hydrate your skin from within and how to strengthen your fascia, resilient skin is essential to maintaining calm skin that has longevity.
